"Setup an IDEA project for PillarOne Application" - issues

Posted by Alan Sausse at March 12. 2009

Hello forum,

I've been trying to follow the instructions from:

http://www.pillarone.org/collaboration/help-center/how-to/setup-an-idea-project-for-pillarone-application

But I think I need a little help.

Have installed the latest JDK on my laptop (Windows XP) + the associated documentation.

Have also installed a copy of IntelliJ IDEA 8.1.0 which appears to be running ok.

I noticed in the instructions on the link above that the JetGroovy plugin is needed and also that the Native Neighbourhood plugin is also recommended.  These are installed ok, but by default when I installed the software a long list of other plugins were activated.  Do I need these as well, or can I deinstall them?

Also I don't have an SVN account (I don't even know what one is!).  I'm guessing that was why I was unable to get the source code since I was prompted by IDEA for a user name and password which - unless I'm mistaken - I don't have.

How should I proceed?

Many thanks.

Alan.

My list of plugins refers to additionally required plugins. I recommend to keep the plugins that are installed by default.

I have been trying to access SVN server "https://svn.intuitive-collaboration.com/PillarOne/trunk/" through IDEA 8.1, however I get the following error message : "Cannot checkout from svn : svn : connection refused by the server svn : OPTIONS request failed on '/PillarOne/trunk' ".

Do you know how should I proceed?

I have currently installed IDEA 8.1, trial version (for 30 days), since I do not know the open source certification to enter at the installation of the software.

I also have created a JetBrains Account, however I get an error message saying the connection is refused. This also leads to an error message at the opening of the plugin manager. Would you have any hints?

Thank you for your answers.

SVN server access

May I simply ask you to try again to connect to our svn server. In order to test if it is regularly running you may simply click on the url you posted above. If you shouldn't get access, it might be that our server is down :( or your corporate firewall is blocking the access :=(

Open Source IDEA license

If you are seriously interested in developing for PillarOne and the trial period is over, I could provide you an open source license.

JetBrains Account

It's not necessary to create a JetBrains account. You may work without one.

Hello Stefan,

thank you for your answer. Actually I could figure out that my corporate firewall is blocking the access to the server. I am currently working on this problem.

Also, it seems that the jetBrains account is neccessary in order to download the plugins you recommend to install (including Native neighbourhood).
