Risk Analytics 1.2 can not be launched

Posted by Anonymous at February 06. 2011
Hi, I tried to install R-A on my laptop several times, the installation process works fine without any error message. When I then click on the icons during launch of hte program the following error message ist displayed: "Could not find the main class Analytics. Program will exit." Is there something to be done? I would very much appreciate help on this Günter Wiltschek

Hi Günter

it might be that your problem is related to the following issue: PMO-1446. May I ask you to checkt this and provide me afterwards further feedback. The first comment contains a recipe how you might fix this problem yourself before a new installer is available.

Regards,

Stefan

Hello,

I have installed the stand-alone version of the application and every time I try to run it, I get the message, 'could not create the Java Virtual Machine'.

Kindly help.

Regards,

Brian

Hi Brian
could you provide me additional information:

  • amount of physical and virtual memory
  • log file available in your user home\.pillarone\RiskAnalytics-%version%\logs

Thanks.

Best regards,
Stefan

btw: RiskAnalytics 1.1.2 is not the most recent version.

Hello Gunter, Stefan,

Sorry, I have been offline for a while.

Thank you for the response.

The problem is not the one in https://issuetracking.intuitive-collaboration.com/jira/browse/PMO-1446

Nevertheless, I found a workaround. I found that reducing the maximum heap size to 900 will allow the program to run. It must have something to do with the fact that my laptop is 32-bit.

My system has 3.0 GB physical memory and 558 MB virtual memory.

Meanwhile, I have downloaded the new version.
