What are the minimal requirements for your software to run?

Any reasonable recent notebook, PC or server can run PillarOne software, as long as a Java Runtime Environment (version 6) is installed.

PillarOne products can be used in a standalone or client-server mode and therefore there are two answers:

  • standalone mode: 2 GB memory, 200 MB disk space, possibility to install a Java Runtime Environment with at least version 6. Our installers include already a suitable Java Runtime Environment. The runtime for simulations in RiskAnalytics depends not only on the CPU speed. The results can be large and are stored in a database on disk. Hence, the performance also depends on the performance of the harddisks.
  • client-server mode: Java Runtime Environment 6 or higher has to be installed on the client. Furthermore JavaScript has to be enabled in the browser. The server needs at least 2 GB of dedicated memory. The effective amount of required memory depends on the number of concurrent sessions. In order to run the software on the server a Java webservlet container (e.g. Apache Tomcat) and any database product (MySQL, MS SQL, ...) is required.
